We can all easily fall into extremes, believing he is right, she is wrong; mine is good, yours is bad; this is virturous, that is vile, yet, are they really that which you think they are? By what criteria you can be sure they are the ultimate truth?
The fact is, what you think people or things are comes simply from the notions and beliefs you already carry with you about them, in other words, you think you know them and believe that the way you think about them is true. When you believe in your deep-seated notions, you are unconsciously manipulated by them, you simply see or judge the world around you the way you believed them to be, rather than what they really are.
You can create an empty space in which truths can arise as they are by starting to question and let go of your beliefs and notions about everything, including those about yourself.
